Somesh Jha

Somesh is an award-winning economics journalist with a decade-long career spanning publications such as the Los Angeles Times and al-Jazeera. Previously, he covered the Indian government in New Delhi for national and financial dailies, while working for a non-profit investigative newsroom. Among other stories, Somesh uncovered official data on unemployment and poverty that had been suppressed by the Indian government. He has reported on a wide range of subjects including data, labour, environment, transportation, and banking. He has a master's degree in journalism, media and globalisation for which he earned a distinction.
