Bureau's website, and our Bureau Local director, win national awards
Recent weeks have seen two more exciting awards wins for the Bureau.
Last night, Megan Lucero, the director of our new Bureau Local team - an innovative project set up to support data-driven public interest reporting in regional newsrooms across the UK - was given the judges' award at the MHP Communications Young Journalists Awards: 30 to Watch. The awards celebrate 30 journalists under the age of 30 for their work. Out of those 30 winners, Megan was singled out to receive the top honour - the gold Judges' Award for "particularly eye-catching achievement."
And earlier this month, the Bureau's website beat competition from the Times and Sunday Times, Sky and the Financial Times to be named winner of the Best Launch or Relaunch of the Year in the Drum Online Media Awards, which recognise the best digital journalism in the UK. Here's what the judges had to say about our site, which was designed by Manchester based-agency Fieldwork and launched in late February: "It's necessary work that's beautifully and invitingly presented, with outstanding attention paid to the audience. A clear winner."
And here's our production editor Miriam Wells celebrating our win.
