Bureau’s report on 300th Pakistan drone strike has impact
As the US’s use of drones increases, the Bureau examines their impact in Pakistan.
The Bureau’s ongoing investigation into Washington’s drone campaign in Pakistan received further international pick up following our report that Saturday October 14 marked the 300th US drone attack on Pakistani militants.
The story prompted coverage of anger at drone strikes amongst Pakistanis by CNN, and the Bureau’s lead reporter on the Covert War drone campaign, Chris Woods, was interviewed by Pakistani news organsation Dawn.com on the significance of this milestone in the US operation in Pakistan.
Last month, Woods was also interviewed by Channel 4 News in its report on the US expansion of the drone campaign into Somalia and Yemen, and Democracy Now!’s Amy Goodman cited the investigation in a comment piece on the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial.
The Bureau’s most recent report was also covered by the Hindustan Times, Australia’s SBS News, ZeeNews, IBN, and Truthdive, and cited by the American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project.
