The Bureau is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.

Our funds primarily come from grant-makers and philanthropists, but we are always seeking to diversify our funding and seek commercial revenue streams. All funds received support our journalism.

The Bureau has grown significantly in recent years, thanks to the support of new funders for our projects and investigations. Our annual income in 2014 was £490,000, rising to over £1m in 2017.
